‘History is not determined by catastrophes; history is determined by our response to catastrophes.’*
In the near future, a devastating flood will hit the Netherlands, the “Christmas flood of 2052”.
Team TIJD | SPIEGEL wonders whether we will continue to hold on to our belief in social engineering and technology, whether we will increasingly adapt to whatever is unpredictable, or whether we will draw the ultimate conclusion from what seems inevitable.
We investigate our historical relationship with nature and landscape and reflects this in three visions of the future for the Henriëttewaard and Fort Crèvecoeur, introducing three visions that appeal to the imagination, stimulate, encourage action and inspire movement.
