TIME LAPSE | SCREEN SAVE
Time Lapse | Screen Save in the Waterwinpark in Leidsche Rijn connects drinking water extraction with awareness and aesthetics.
The work emphasises how clean drinking water is created through centuries of natural filtering and calls for care for a clean earth’s surface. It aims to increase biodiversity in collaboration with residents and park managers through phased mowing management and bulbous plants. A path pattern inspired by ice crystals and rhizomes provides access to the artwork. Monthly drone images are used to create a time-lapse film that shows the slow changes in the flower meadow in fast motion. This film can serve as a screen saver, reminding users of the value and origin of clean drinking water.
