SAND TO CLAY | Zand naar Klei

The new Elisabethhof development in Oostvoorne is located where the dune landscape transitions into the polder.
This fact was taken as the starting point for a paving motif consisting of light yellow and grey bricks, “sand and clay”.

Gradually, the flowing shapes of the dunes merge into the straight lines of the polder landscape.
Large oval shapes emerge naturally in the transition zone.

Four of these ovals have been lifted out of the paving to form planting areas. Integrated into the oval shapes, wooden decking serves as seating.
The ovals have been planted according to a design by Piet Oudolf.
