SAND TO CLAY | Zand naar Klei
The Elisabethhof in Oostvoorne is located where the undulating dunes meet the orthogonal lines of the polder landscape. This was taken as the starting point for the paving pattern of light yellow and grey bricks: “sand and clay”.
The flowing shapes of the dunes gradually merge into the straight lines of the polder landscape. Large oval shapes emerge naturally in the transition zone.
Four of these ovals have been raised from the paving as planting areas and partly serve as seating areas.
The planting plan was designed by Piet Oudolf.
